Unique!!

It's a remarkable thing how we can tend to misjudge in our daily lives. I mean, look around, there are tons of examples of how people thought something else for something else n concluded in a bad decision, sometimes the worst decision of the life.
How is it that day after day, we lull ourselves in believing something that's untrue and does not matter against something which is true and will matter not only to us but our surroundings as well.

Its tough to exercise decisions when we grow up with false senses of humility pumped into us. As opposed to thinking of ourselves less, we end up thinking less of ourselves. While, in a maturing society with a craving of all kinds of resources, one would rather be falsely humble than keep his pride; this mass behavior also produces a mass result wherein whole strings of generation are smeared with low self esteem. This typically is the case of thinking of ourselves as something that's less than what we are, not only as individuals but also as a group, as a society, we diminish our values much beyond sane limits.

Funnily, children don't exhibit this behavior since they are unable to understand pure worth in a true sense in their state of mind. They rather look at stuff only with the 'survival' glasses on, unlike the adults who "have to contribute" to the society in predestined orders and forms, at times not even knowing what they are good at.
While a virtue like humility is a strength to one's character, a false humility destroys not only an individual but also decays the society. The balance between self and society is indeed tough to achieve. While we wouldn't look forward to a society where 'I' rules, we wouldn't want our next generations to grow up in a blur not knowing what their true worth is and how the same can be shared with fellow beings for goodness multiplied!
It's marvelous to see the applicability of these thoughts as found in the Bible. Something that's described as apple of God's eyes, inscribed on His palms and made in His own image can't be as plain a thing as we make it to be. The creator is unique in all His senses, directions and attributes of His creation and it is indeed unique worth that He places in each one of them for them to really be the objects of His affection!
