About taste..

I learnt something new today. A child has the maximum number of taste buds.
As she grows up and experiences a consistent (spicy/sour/bland/blah) plate of taste, over the years, the original capability of some of her taste buds diminish in size and finally disappear resulting in a tongue that has a very defined palette of taste.
Quite opposite to a child who has the ability to recognise a huge variety of tastes and appreciate or for that matter, not appreciate them.
Ahem, maybe it's the same with our likings and choices as well.

Anyways, coming back to taste, arguably there may be almost 101 ways of making a food taste heavenly, the primary additional factors other than taste might be look & feel, aroma and memories. Why memories? Well, how many of you have had a chai/coffee from the same place year after year despite of knowing that there are many raving alternatives?
Now,considering all these factors and many more swimming in your head, as you read; you might come up with at least 3 food items/preparations, at the mention of which you drool. Why does that happen and why isn't your list grossly the same as the next door neighbour or the paperboy or your boss?
Apparently, something that's almost your appetising dream might be someone's nightmare. You both have acquired a certain kind of taste which is very individual, maybe as individual as your personality.
Even so, there are food items that appeal to many tongues and souls, not just one or few. In fact, some have a rare and huge fan following, both in terms of acceptance and reference. "You must taste Mr. X's sprout and micro greens, tastes heavenly and it has done me only good!".
How do you define good food? Like real good food that takes your mind on a ride of ecstasy and constant appreciation and brings you back with a pacifying satisfaction that you can't stop talking about. Sounds familiar? Am still talking about food and not of addiction of any form though.

As strange as it may sound, something ultimately extra ordinary also features as an item as a savoury relish.
Come taste and see that The Lord is good! One might/might not have ever experienced this aspect of God's nature, the fact that He is an absolute rare item you can delight in! One has to acquire a taste though, almost like acquiring taste for a preparation that won the Food competition, maybe you never quite fancied having it before. Maybe, you didn't know it existed or maybe some of the popular TV shows presented a really goofed up recipe of the preparation or maybe you had seen a really adulterated/mashed up version of it in your locality and didn't wanna try it just by the look of it!!
